Fayette Alliance Supports HB 298
We support appropriating state bonds to fund a new research facility at the University of Kentucky.
In furtherance of our mission to grow our city and promote our farms, Fayette Alliance strongly supports House Bill 298.
If adopted, this legislation will authorize the appropriation of bonds to construct a $135 million research facility at the University of Kentucky.
Once complete, this catalytic project will propel Lexington’s economy, built environment, and quality of life forward—profoundly impacting our city, the Bluegrass Region, and the state of Kentucky commiserate with the land-grant mission of our flagship university.
Moreover, the proposed research facility will leverage Lexington’s competitive strengths as a healthcare, high-tech, and agricultural hub—significantly advancing sustainable growth, job creation, and the welfare of Kentuckians across the entire state.
We therefore respectfully urge our state legislators to adopt HB 298 during the shortened legislative session.
