The current Councilmembers of Lexington-Fayette County
2024 is an election year for Lexington-Fayette County, which means multiple district Council seats could change.
Our plan is to keep you up-to-date and in the know throughout the entire election process โ letting you know whoโs running, whoโs not, and where candidates stand on smart, sustainable, and equitable growth policies for Lexington-Fayette County.
- Need-to-know: Mayor Gorton, Vice Mayor Dan Wu, and At-Large Councilmembers James Brown and Chuck Ellinger II are not up for reelection until 2026.

- Tues., May 21, 2024 โ Primary Election Day for Lexington-Fayette County
- Tues., Nov. 5, 2024 โ General Election

District 1 | Primary voting for this district will take place on Tues., May 21 and only two candidates will move forward to the General Election in November.

District 2 | Because this district only has two candidates running, they wonโt be on the ballot until the General Election in November.
- Shayla Lynch, Incumbent –ย absent from the initial meeting on the expansion vote, voted to approve final Goals & Objectives including expansion of USB of 2,700-5,000 acres
- Jacques Wigginton
District 3 | This district is uncontested, meaning only one person has filed.
- Hannah LeGris, Incumbent – voted against expansion
District 4 | Primary voting for this district will take place on Tues., May 21 and only two candidates will move forward to the General Election in November.
