Our Successes

In just four years, The Fayette Alliance has ushered over 40 major land-use policies into law—making a real difference in our community. Some examples include:

  • Successfully lobbying Council to support several needed water quality initiatives including the water quality management program and the use of green infrastructure in our subdivision regulations.
  • Successfully raising awareness for the need for affordable housing, including securing funding for the LFUCG Housing Market Study.
  • Successfully lobbying Planning Commission to stop the expansion of the Urban Service Boundary and saving over 7,500 acres of prime Fayette County farmland from sprawl development.
  • Successfully educating the public about the importance of responsible growth in Lexington-Fayette County, using op-eds, media interviews, candidate forums during LFUCG election seasons, public presentations, social media, and a revamped interactive website.

However, these accomplishments come at a cost! Join us in making Lexington a better place for every member of our community. Please consider donating today. Thank you for your dedication to our community and your support of The Fayette Alliance!
