Executive Director Knox van Nagell Joins UK HealthCare Later this Month

Knox Van Nagell, Fayette Alliance Executive Director, to Join UK Healthcare

We announce that Knox van Nagell is joining UK Healthcare after nearly ten years of service as the founding executive director of the organization.

As Senior Director of Development, Knox will advance the mission of UK Healthcare through broad-based, collaborative, and strategic philanthropic initiatives.

For almost a decade, Fayette Alliance and UK Healthcare have worked together to strengthen the quality of life and economy of Lexington. Fayette Alliance’s mission to sustainably grow our city and promote our farms continues to inform and support the unprecedented expansion of UK Healthcare. In her new role at the University, Knox commented that she “looks forward to continuing this successful partnership for the future of Lexington-Fayette County and the Commonwealth of Kentucky”.

Fayette Alliance Board Chair Don Robinson added, “Knox will be greatly missed, and our organization would not be where it is today without her incredible leadership. The good news for Central Kentucky is that she is moving to a like-minded and highly impactful asset to our community.”

Knox will start at UK Healthcare later this month, and will serve on the Fayette Alliance Board of Directors moving forward.

Since its founding in 2006, Fayette Alliance has worked to create a vibrant city that is connected to, and balanced with our productive Bluegrass farmland in Lexington-Fayette County through land use advocacy, education, and promotion—and with great success.

Working with community stakeholders and leadership, the Fayette Alliance has helped usher over 90 major land-use policies into law; supported over $750 million in infill development projects; saved over 8,000 acres of farmland from sprawl development; secured over 21,000 supporters; established a charitable foundation; and sponsored numerous educational and research efforts in Lexington.

While much has been accomplished, the Fayette Alliance remains deeply engaged, steadfast, and optimistic in executing its mission for the benefit of Lexington-Fayette County. A transition plan and CEO search is underway, and updates will be forthcoming.
