Building support and gaining consensus on the Urban County Council for $2.4 million in local funding for the LFUCG Purchase of Development Rights (PDR) program. This represents a .23% increase from the prior fiscal year. PDR will use this money to purchase conservation easements on approximately 1,812 additional acres of prime agricultural land in Fayette County.

Since 2006, the Alliance has worked with local government to usher over 50 major land-use policies into law that promote farmland preservation and our signature agricultural industries, responsible development, and improved water quality and infrastructure in Fayette County.
We are charting Lexington's future by positively impacting local zoning and policy decisions—the very building blocks of our community.
