Parkside Apartments at 1060 Cross Keys Road

AU Associates, a Lexington, KY based development firm, announces the completion of Parkside, a mixed-use development including 36 affordable apartments for families, offices of Sunflower Kids and Bluegrass Domestic Violence.

The property was the original home of the Gardenside Cabana Club and more recently known as the home of the Cross Keys YWCA.  After years of neglect and vandalism, AU Associates purchased the property upon receiving an award of housing tax credits and affordable housing trust funds from the Kentucky Housing Corporation and City of Lexington HOME Funds.  Construction and permanent financing was provided by Citizens Union Bank of Shelbyville….Read the press release to learn more.

Unique development project opens in Gardenside neighborhood

In the early 1960s, this place was the Cabana Club, and 5-year-old Holly Wiedemann came here to learn how to skate on Lexington’s only ice rink.

In the early 1970s, it was The Aquatic Club, and Wiedemann came here to swim with the Greater Lexington Swim Association and play on the adjacent putt-putt miniature golf course.

Now, this 6.2-acre site in southwest Lexington’s Gardenside neighborhood is called Parkside, a stylish new development whose first phase opened last week with 36 beautiful apartments for low-income people and offices for two social service agencies… Read more at Kentucky.com
